Rich in heritage of community service in support of veterans, the City of Chula Vista is committed to recognizing our veterans for their significant contribution of talents to strengthen and support the community.  Since 1998, the “Veteran of the Year” Program has recognized the accomplishments of our veterans and their contributions to the Chula Vista community and our San Diego area.  Each year since, a “City of Chula Vista Veteran of the Year” has been selected to represent our city as one its finest veterans.

Eligibilityflags in a row
For consideration as the Veteran of the Year, a veteran must have been honorably discharged from U.S. Military Service, employed within or a resident of the City of Chula Vista, and a citizen who has made significant contributions to the community since military service. Emphasis should be placed on the veteran’s accomplishments that support the nominating organization’s service to the community, individual efforts to the local community and support of the Veterans community of San Diego at large.
