Library Card

Library cards are free to all California residents. Complete the online application, then bring a photo ID and proof of your current address to any of our branch locations.

ID or Proof of Address examples:

  • Drivers License           
  • Payroll check 
  • Utility bill  
  • Car insurance
  • Car registration
  • Native American Tribal ID

If you do not live in California you may purchase a library card for $20.

1You must be 18 or older to checkout DVDs, Blu-Rays, Chromebooks or Hotspots.
2There is a fee to borrow DVDs and Blu-rays ($20/year or $5 for 3 months).

 

Renewing Items

Books, magazines, audiobooks, and music CDs will be auto-renewed up to five times if eligible. Items with outstanding patron holds or that have reached their maximum renewal threshold will not be renewed.

Renewal Exceptions

  • DVDs and Blu-rays renew one time only. To renew DVDs or Blu-rays please call (619) 409-1969 or visit one of our Self Checkout stations or Accounts Desk. You can also renew online via Your Library Account.
  • Chromebooks cannot be renewed.
